January 2 Meetup!
Hey guys, I can host at my house tonight. Anna is the only one who knows where my house is so I’ll add some google map info. My phone number is 863-2229 incase you need help. Although I have no sense of direction…
My address is 1910 W. Webster, 65802 incase that didn’t work. The front yard is fenced in and the house is cream color.
See ya guys!

Craftless
Once again, buttons avoided being made into rings.
But it was nice just to blather all night and eat food that is bad for us, right??
Anyhoo, the next meetup is scheduled on Dec 19th at Anna’s. The plan is for a ornament swap, make 6(?) ornaments and bring the “ingredients” to make another for a demo for the assemblage. Then we all swap and it is like MAGIC!!
Here is the flickr gallery of the ornament swap I participated in online for some inspiration.
This post is disjointed because I am on cold medicine.
Also, everyone is invited to eat turkey at my house on Dec 9th. Turkey will be ready to eat at 4pm. Be there or be rhombus.

Early December gathering?
The last time we met I was too excited about my buttons, that I don’t remember if we decided when to meet again? And what project to work on?
I’m willing to host, but if someone else wants a turn, that is fine by me as well!

Tutorial:Blueprint Button Rings
Here is the tutorial from Blueprint magazine on making button rings. And in other news, I got a batch of 20 ring blanks off ebay for tuesday!
Also, if you look at the examples I posted, some of them use elastic as the ring base. Maybe an option if sodering or gluing isn’t your thing.

Tutorial: Tie a knot (Best Tutorial Ever)
How to tie a knot at the end of a thread for hand sewing. It seems so simple, but is really genius.

Meetup: Felt Bags, Nov 7th
When: Nov 7, 7pm-ish
Where: Nicole’s place, contact her for directions
What: Felt gift bags. Bring felt, hot glue guns, needle and thread, scissors, ideas
Nicole has a really cool example, but a quick google search brought up these not very good examples:
from Paper Mart
from American Bridal
a few different cute ones from Plum Party (there are actually a ton of cute ones at Plum Party, but I was too lazy to link to them all. Search under “felt bags.”)
Comment if you will be attending!

Tutorial: Zippered pouch
I have looked at lots of zippered pouch tutorials and this is the best I have seen by far. I have seen this technique, but I could never get the fabric to zipper ratio quite right. This tutorial really helped me visualize what size the fabric should be in relation to the zipper – which is so helpful when you are winging it most of the time! Great pictures, clear and easy instructions.

Share: Freezer Paper Stencilling
I finally got around to actually trying out the freezer paper stencilling. It was easy and quick. I highly recommend it!
Here is my favorite of the t-shirts I made for my nephew, Jake:

Yay for packages!
I have already signed up, but you can too until Nov. 1! It looks like it will be a pretty good swap – over 200 people signed up already.
